A couple of weeks ago we decided it might be nice to escape yucky Michigan and head to Texas. Lucky for us we were able to take the Dow Shuttle, and that makes flying so much easier! Since the Shuttle lands in Lake Jackson we had to drive about 4 hours to our first destination.

This is what happens when you give a 2 year old licorice to keep her quiet on a 4 hour car ride. Funny thing about Texas drivers, when they want you to pass they pull right over to the shoulder of the road. I guess people just like to drive slow down there. While in

Texas we spent 2 days in Corpus Christi, the weather was great, we spent both days on the beach. Linden loved the water and the sand. She had a great time running around. Matt bur

ied her a few times in the sand and built a few sand castles for her to smash. We got to see quite a bit of marine life, including a bunch of these - yuck!

There were lots of jelly fish that washed up on the beach. Which I later read is supposedly a sign of Global Warming (not sure if that's really true or not). At first we were really worried about Linden stepping on one, or trying to pick one up. But then we saw a lady pick one up and throw it at her friend. Matt and I were like "What!?!" So when we got back to the hotel we Googled "Jelly fish" and found that the type we saw were Moon Jelly fish, and most people are not allergic and if they are it is minor and no worse than a bee sting. So we were not as worried after that, but still tried to keep Linden away from them. We also saw some sea turtles, which was really cool! The other 2 days we were in Texas we spent in San Antonio. We had never been to Texas so we tried to squeeze as much as we could in to the four days we were there. Unfortunately my camera was not working (a scrapbookers nightmare), and I had to use a disposable camera and my phone for most of our pictures. I used to secretly make fun of people who I saw using disposable cameras, but I have a new sympathy for them after my trip. Its such a pain to actually have to develop your photo's to see what they look like! We went to the Alamo (sorry no pic of this), Mission San Jose,

The Tower of the Americas

which gave us a great Ariel view of the city, and of course the River Walk (again no pic of this either!). The tower of Americas was really neat, and we got there right at sunset which was perfect! Admission to the tower also included a really cool 4D movie called "Skies over Texas". Linden loved the movie, one part had a rattle snake that "jumped" out at the audience, she was still talking about that snake 2 days later.
