Final Trip of the Summer.

Well, we took our final trip for the summer back in August. I always look forward to Buckley weekend, but it's always a little sad too.

Knowing that after that week starts the busy season, which isn't sad, but the cold weather that is always right around the corner, is down right depressing for me. I definitely live in the wrong state, if Linden ever chooses to move away from here (heaven forbid) hopefully she moves somewhere warm, so Matt and I can pack up and move with her. Anyway back to our final trip. We spent a few days camping at the Buckley Old Engine show, with my parents, Charley, Tonya and Baby Logan. My Dad and Charley play music and there are lots of antiques and other junk to check out. This year we actually bought some stuff, usually we don't buy anything. Matt couldn't pass up this sweet Schwinn bicycle in "flamboyant green" (I'm not making that color up) and a little red wagon. Both will serve as good fixer up projects for him. Every year there is an old man with an old engine connected to a toy horse, the horse goes up and down (much like the one at Meijer). Last year Linden cried and didn't want to ride the horse at all, this year we couldn't get her off it, she even wore the old man's hat. After Buckley we headed to Traverse City, Glenn Arbor and Torch Lake for a few days. We really love that area, and always have a good time while we are there. We swam in Lake Michigan, which was great fun, I forgot how nice it is to swim in fresh water, it has been a while since we have had the chance to do so. While at Torch Lake we rented a boat for the day. Linden got to "drive" (I love this picture of her) and she really liked getting out at the sand bar to swim. Up in Glenn Arbor they have the most wonderful place . . . Cherry Republic, they also have one in downtown Traverse City, and believe me we made our share of stops at both while up North. The Glenn Arbor Cherry Republic is a lot of fun and we tasted some cherry soda and wine while there. Linden of course loves Cherry Republic too, because there are so many free samples and snacks to have. As you can see from these pictures she's quite a fan of Cherry Soda, she made quite sure she got every last drop out of her glass.
